FAQ’s

Am I trading using the most tax efficient structure?
This is a frequently asked question and the answer more often than not is ‘No’. Obviously, tailored advice can only be given once your individual circumstances have been assessed but we are more than happy to conduct a review on your current status to see if any tax savings could be made.

I’ve been with my old accountant for years, is it difficult to switch?
The switching process is actually quite straightforward and will require minimum input from the client. The only thing we’ll need from you is your previous accountant’s contact information. From this point we will inform them in writing of the switch and chase up any outstanding queries or information that may be required in order to give you the best service moving forward.

Am I paying too much tax?
Quite possibly, as part of our ongoing service we will recommend ways in which you can easily (and legally) reduce your tax burdens. We will always aim to earn our fees by ensuring our clients don’t pay more than their fair share of taxes.

Will it be clear from the outset how much I will be charged?
As with all professional services, our fees are based on time spent. At initial consultation we can give you an estimate of what our cost is likely to be or, in some instances, offer a fixed fee price if the scope of the work is defined from the outset. We also offer the facility to spread your yearly charge via 12 monthly standing order payments, so by the time your accounts are due – They’re already paid for.

You say you bill for time spent, does this mean you’ll charge me every time I contact you?
No, we do not charge for general advice and meetings throughout the year. We actively encourage our clients to keep in touch with us throughout the course of the year so that they can receive proactive advice.

I’m a CIS contractor, I’m often due a tax rebate – Will you expect payment upfront?
No, if you are expecting a tax rebate from HMRC we will arrange to deduct our invoice at source – This lessens the cost burden on our clients and also encourages us to recover all refunds quickly and efficiently.

Can you assist with my Payroll and new RTI filing requirements?
Yes, our payroll department can cater to all your payroll needs. From weekly/monthly wages preparation (including RTI filing) to general advice regarding statutory claims such as SMP & SSP our friendly and efficient payroll team can take the stress out of payroll operation.
